1. Exposure and Explain: show students the tables on the handout. Use different color to write/underline the verbs in the two tables in order to emphasize the differences between “countable” and “uncountable” nouns, which can also serve as a hint for students. And explain the sentence pattern by giving different examples, especially minimal-pair example sentences.
2. Help students identify the differences between the items in table A (countable nouns) and B (uncountable nouns)
a. Lead students to do two exercises (1. and 2.) on the handout.
b. Pair work: make students do the excises from three different handouts by pair work.
4. Application: the teacher asks students to create sentences by using the sentence pattern “… of…” according to the pictures or their classmates’ characters.
